Very nice image and edit, the only thing I could sudgest is to open up the shadows in the archway, but that's just my tastes,

There is no detail left in the shadows Alan and lightening the area just looks muddy so I prefer to leave it as it is but thanks for commenting. emoticon

I really like church organs and I think I understand some of the problems in photographing them. In this sort of image would it be an idea to make two exposures, one for the organ and one for the shadows. These images could then be combined in PS to extend the range of the image.

You are quite right Norman and under ideal circumstances this is the technique I normally use. However, this was an opportunity shot and taken at 1/30sec - the slowest I thought I could get away with hand-held (no image stabilisation on these old cameras) and I was lucky to get a usable image so I had no chance at about 1/4sec or less for the shadows. With a bit of luck I will be able to go back with a tripod and have another go. emoticon
