Print templates LR PS
Hi all. I'm doing some prints for my son. A4 landscape and portrait. I'm using some Permajet Snapshut albums. Using A4 paper both ways, I want to have the same longest edge length whichever way round I print, for all the photos, but also to use part of the A4 sheet (i.e. somewhat above centre) and a bit to the right to allow for the album's "gutter" - in other words I'm using the whole of the A4 sheet but the image will be smaller.
Without messing around on-screen and literally having a guess and a stab at it therefore wasting paper, is there a "tool" online, or a program I can use to work out the LR margins I need?
Also, am I right in thinking that I should resize each tif to the size I want before-hand, or can I let LR resize it to this "longest length" which would be easier?
Thanks. Richard.

Re: Print templates LR PS
LR or creating a PS droplet is probably the best approach for this.
If you can sketch out the design with measurements, save it as jpg and put it on here, I will be able to adviser the best approach.

Re: Print templates LR PS
Thanks Ian. No not yet, I must admit that this sort of thing isn't my strength, taking photos is! I haven't even a clue what size margin to have let alone how to "move" everything to the right or by how much. I will have a stab at it this weekend, thanks for the offer and being patient.

Re: Print templates LR PS
phone pic of album
Right Ian, I went for the Yorkshire approach of giving it some hammer for about 6 hours, see the picture taken with a phone. I used loads of ordinary A4 paper then got it right, to use the Osprey paper and saved it as a print template. At least now I've learnt another aspect of LR, although I'd rather leave it all to Martin as usual this is a "quick and dirty job". I can recommend the permajet snapshut albums.
