Spending time at Hauser & Wirth Gardens, Somerset
This is one of three images I would appreciate some comments on. I realise now that if I wait until I am happy to post, I never, but I am having problems deciding on when something is "right" so though it useful to share. All processed in Capture One at the moment.
Thanks for looking,
Graham

There is no "right" or "wrong", Graham. Ansel Adam once said, "There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs"
I like this one, tonally it is well balanced with good contrast. Good gradation of tones in the sky. Not sure about the composition. Think it could have been stronger without the young child and more shadow from the large clock.

Thanks Steven,
The composition is rather odd, but I grew to like it.
In spite of the size of the clock, the contrast of the boy against the shadow draws the eye I then find I follow the path and the people up to the "gourd" which is cut by the pole for the clock, which leads me up to the clock, and I wonder how I missed it in the first place.
But maybe its just me. I certainly agree that the composition was compromised by me trying to get the boy and the clock to work together.
Cheers,
Graham

Yep, I like this, it has a slightly surreal look to it ,and if your not sure about a certain image, post it anyway, as different comments and suggestions are always helpful.

The rather odd shaped clock is because it is set an an angle and shape so that it looks like a perfectly normal circular clock from the car park, but when you look at straight on, the face is oval and the hands look the wrong length.

Graham
