Nikon D500

Everyone has probably noticed the launch of Nikon's D500. With its CMOS DX sensor, does anyone think its relevant today to make a professional spec camera with a smaller sensor?
One of my cameras is a Nikon D750 which is full frame, the weight of this camera is almost identical to the D500. The only advantage would be the lenses on the D500 will be lighter in weight. I must say though it looks a little beauty. I am a fan and user of film but i do like the modern twist of live view and wireless remote releases. I would have to see if my tethered software (Camera RC) will work remotely.
The proof would have to be in the printing (Pudding!) can it print A3 and can it capture enough detail for those shots where detail is appropriate, Noise is also a factor for Long Exposures. I noticed it has a viewfinder curtain built in which is annoyingly omitted on the D750, do these little features denote the difference between Amateur and pro spec cameras?
Regards,
Alan

Re: Nikon D500

Alan, I can easily print to A3 with my 16MP D7000, with excellent fine detail. Actually, my old D80 printed at least to A3, and that had an 8MP sensor.

Re: Nikon D500

I have a good quality DX zoom lens, I might just give one a try when the D500 comes available, thanks for the feedback,

Alan
