Is there a way to emphasise the diagonal poles pointing to the horse which may make this more obvious. At the moment they tend to be lost in with the rest, which is a pity. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Clactonian)Sun, 17 Jan 2016 18:50:09 +0000 Re: trojan horsehttps://bthedigitalmonochromeforum.runboard.com/p2043889,from=rss#post2043889https://bthedigitalmonochromeforum.runboard.com/p2043889,from=rss#post2043889thanks for the comments. it was taken in the early 80's on fuji slide film. i've scanned it with a zoom slide copier attached to a canon 100d. the way my brain works: many of the diagonals are pointing towards the horse and its the only clear part of the image, which to me, makes it appear as if its emerging from the background. the planks point towards and in the same direction as the horses head - as does the chap at the side of the horse. maybe i need to lighten the horse for a bit more separation?nondisclosed_email@example.com (regfinch)Sun, 17 Jan 2016 18:21:37 +0000 Re: trojan horsehttps://bthedigitalmonochromeforum.runboard.com/p2043883,from=rss#post2043883https://bthedigitalmonochromeforum.runboard.com/p2043883,from=rss#post2043883I'll go with Steve on this. If twas mine I'd be inclined to give it a good crop to the underside of the scaffold boards whilst maintaining similar image proportions which should place the horses head just right of centre.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Clactonian)Sun, 17 Jan 2016 17:39:38 +0000 Re: trojan horsehttps://bthedigitalmonochromeforum.runboard.com/p2043872,from=rss#post2043872https://bthedigitalmonochromeforum.runboard.com/p2043872,from=rss#post2043872For me it is a bit too confusing Reg and the scaffolding is taking my eye when it should be held by the horse. Nothing you can do about the VP I know but t's lacking a bit of tonal separation I would say. I'm wondering...perhaps if you selectively D&B a bit to draw more attention to the centrepiece it may be more beneficial. How did you shoot this tech wise?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Steve 734)Sun, 17 Jan 2016 17:21:18 +0000 trojan horsehttps://bthedigitalmonochromeforum.runboard.com/p2043869,from=rss#post2043869https://bthedigitalmonochromeforum.runboard.com/p2043869,from=rss#post2043869nondisclosed_email@example.com (regfinch)Sun, 17 Jan 2016 16:50:33 +0000
