What a great abstract Steve and one that has the ability to be viewed in a number of ways...full marks for realising the potential in the first instance. Here is my take on it, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with yours.

the lighter balloons shape is similar to the letter B.
so B is for balloons..

For me the reason would be that as its an abstract there is not necessarily a single, correct orientation. So people can have any orientation that looks best to them.

I'm not a fan of Stieglitz but when asked if one of his pictures (of clouds) was upside down he replied, 'Does it matter?' (or something like thatemoticon)
