irrespective of the context, I love the first image , with the third close behind.

this style just works for me, even without the context I find it has an enigmatic eloquence that appeals to me greatly

Thank you for the comments, interesting for me to hear the range of preferences too. Personal preference is for the first at the moment, I think it may have that elusive quietness.

Yes, I was lucky with that fog, same day as the Delville Wood shots posted earlier. Norman, I have never managed to take a good photo of the caribou, it eludes me, frustrating as it is so symbolic. Martin posted a good one a few months ago.
