not a bad idea Toby
interestingly I was approached by a local (out of the Blue!) who asked me what I was up to
Before I succumbed to my base instinct and told him to eff off I bit my lip and humbly inquired as to 'is interest. Apparently he thought my tripod was a gun as there had been a lot of poaching of deer in them thar fields over yonder
Tell you what - found out he sells farm equipment - must be money in that as he has a private helicopter! (wondered who's it was that we see flying low locally many n evening (could still be a cover story for the illuminati though)

Re: Long exposures / write time worries
Simon, after moving over to mirrorless for a short while i have migrated back to FF. I now have a Nikon D750 with some primes, great little camera, just wish it had a viewfinder blind like my old D700 instead i have to use blue tack to stop the light straying onto the sensor when shooting long exposures, but all in all a great choice...
Regards,
Alan

Re: Long exposures / write time worries
yeah I tried mirrorless and two things just don't do it for me. lack of OVF and speed of focus
I doubt I'll leave DSLRs now
