Re: Jaki
Another great shot with great tones.
I know that there are varying views on clipping or not the top of a head in a portrait.
My starting point is that it should either not be clipped at all or severely and obviously deliberstely clipped.
This one is just clipped and personally I think it would be better in this case if there was a space above the top of the head

Re: Jaki
This is a great edit Martin, with the dark skin tones coupled with the very clear tones of the sweater and to hold both perfectly can be very difficult to do. What a beautiful child.

Re: Jaki
You have caught something really special in the sitters eyes with this one Martin, what a beautiful child, if Jaki was my daughter I would be well pleased with your efforts,
Regards,
Alan

Re: Jaki
Fantastic, for me it is portraiture such as this that film really stands apart. The subtle textures in her skin, her hair and the wool of the jumper are just superb. Lovely shallow depth of focus too.

Re: Jaki
I do not really understand portraiture but two things I have noticed which separates this image from the previous two of the boys, the way the head has neither top space or crop and the face is squarely presented whereas the boys are at a slight angle. I prefer the way the boys are presented.
