clever

My eye starts at the left of the petal but doesn't yet know what the image is, travels to the stamen, clicks and travels back to the left and a deeper appreciation of the textures ensues

Very good Ian, actually this is brilliantly done. The out-of-focus is superb. The whole is slightly unsettling,

I have been pondering over this image and cannot decide if it is abstract or macro. The shading and the form are interesting and I wonder whether the image is bordering on the world of impressionism.

Interesting comment Norman, I guess it could be an abstract of the flower, but on the other hand it was taken with a Macro lens albeit not at 1:1.
