Re: Curves

I do not have a great understanding of still life images but I like the story which this study might be trying to tell. It is sad and the flower is coming to the end of its life, its drooping head is echoed in the curvature of the vase. This is amplified, for me, when the image is cropped just above the reflection of the flower leading towards a square format.

Perhaps I am completely wrong but that is how your image seems to me.

Re: Curves

I really like the main subject, lovely smooth tones and well exposed, I think this is a strong image in its own right and I am not so sure about the reflection, just my honest opinion.

Re: Curves

I personally enjoy doing still life although the genre appears to have no commercial value today for some reason.

Contrary to belief, still life is difficult to do especially glass. I think you have managed to control the glass very well in this instance.

Maybe and it's purely subjective, the vase is a little close to the rear edge.

Re: Curves

I think you've done very well with this Luis. Still life isn't my thing but I can appreciate and do appreciate them. Not easy things to do well but you have done so.
