I agree with the comments already made but I just have a nagging doubt that it could be seen as poking fun at somebody who appears to be grossly overweight. And I emphasise I am not suggesting that was your intention here.

The possibility of misinterpretation is in my mind as I recently read a posting on another site from someone who commented that they tended to dislike street photography as it seemed to them that this was often apparent.

Hi Chris appreciate your words and all the other comments. This photograph was selected last year to be in a jureid show at Soho gallery in New York. There were over 2600 entries and only 42 were selected for the exhibit.

Putting that aside I think that great street photographs do work on several levels. This one, I feel, is one that clearly shows not only a tender moment between a father and daughter but also something that is real in our society.

funny how we see things differently isnt it?

All I saw was kids expression and was slightly amused by the fact that her dad(presumably) had her over her shoulder and she was looking direcltyat the camera. Nothing more emoticon

What made me take this picture was I thought it was just a little funny that this big guy was carrying his daughter like a side of beef past a vegetarian restaurant. And there is a bit of a mirror to our society which is a bonus in my opinion.
