Nice gritty studies , I prefer the lighting in the first one, sometimes its not just the derelict building thats interesting, but whats in it, like those borders as well.

Re: A Pair Of Boots That Were More Than A Foot Apart
I like both of these but the second nicks it for me because of the inclusion of the torn pages.
Don't know why but to me it just feels better compositionally. Superb lighting and both very well processed.

Like them both Tom but the first wins the day for me

Re: A Pair Of Boots That Were More Than A Foot Apart
Thank everyone for your kind comments. It is interesting to see the preferences that everyone has. The first one has a little better light from the small window whereas the second on was on the floor and very little light.
I first came across these boots about ten years ago when they were both sitting in the window. Through time I totally forgot the location of the old dwelling and was pleasantly surprised a couple of weeks ago when I entered this old place and the first thing I saw was one of the boots still in the window. I just let them sit as they were and took a few shots of each one. Perhaps in another ten years or so I might return.....(if I'm living)

Both really good, but the second wins for me with a more 'mysterious' mood.

Re: A Pair Of Boots That Were More Than A Foot Apart
I like the light better in the first but agree that the paper adds to the mystery in the second.
