Re: Shadows Highlights and Reflections
Love the low veiwpoint and shiney floor, rich and contrasty with a lot going on with light and shadows, very striking image, the top RH quarter could be an image in its own right.

Re: Shadows Highlights and Reflections
The trouble, as always, is the translation from your monitor to the website to my monitor. The overall idea is brilliant, but I am missing some information in the darkest areas (back sides and seatings of the seats).

Re: Shadows Highlights and Reflections
Thanks Marco for looking and commenting. When you refer to the blocked shadows I cannot help but replay Martin's recent post regarding blocked shadows and blown highlights in my mind. It is a very fine post and one well worth reading. In this instance shooting against an extremely harsh evening sun I envigaged exactly how I wanted the image to edit and had to decide if I wanted blocked shadows or blown highlights, so I went for the latter. Yes I could have opened them up at the expense of noise, but that was not considered. Strange how we all see things differently which is good for the art.

Tom, I reckon you've nailed that one a treat! I echo everything Tim said.

Re: Shadows Highlights and Reflections
Tom,
Good arguments and of course you made a choice. But I'm sure that things still get lost in translation and in this case the smallest bit would actually add enormously.
Before we get lost in all the techie details: this is one very fine photo and worth looking at more than one time!
