Re: Wife says thats more like it
Well, I liked the pillbox, but this one is more alive. More "human". The other was more abstract.
Lovely composition.
You'll have to start on the photoshop to correct the tilting house, though. Or get a good constructor to "anti-tilt" the house and pole, so that it fits in your lens capacity.
I don't know if you have any room left along the edges, as you best first correct for tilt, then crop. You can do it in photoshop, Lightroom (slightly less maneuverability) and any other software of name.
Google and thou shalt find.
Or cry for help, loudly so. Away from the wife.

Re: Wife says thats more like it
thanks
I will have to go and check that building out again because I dont think that much tilt was due to the lens - seems unlikely
However I am going to have to start learning how to untilt things as it seesm to bother others more than me, which means I need to address it
yeah I'l try googleing - I tried untilting that fisherman in the other post but couldn't suss it out!

Re: Wife says thats more like it
the problem starts with the first capture: try to get MUCH more into that, so you can play with the edges. You'll lose quite a bit when correcting for tilt.
What software are you using for editing? Photoshop? Elements? What?
Talk to us, so we can assist you in getting the best result.

Re: Wife says thats more like it
I've never tried 'What?' but it sounds interesting!
Nay, I use Photoshop CS6 (and lightroom)

Re: Wife says thats more like it
With Marco all the way Simon, the wretched wide angle distortion again. It is affecting not just the house and pole, but the reeds and vegetation to all of the left hand side, and it really is offputting.
When you are using extreme wide angle you can make so much difference by just changing your position slightly. I suspect that much of this is due to the fact that you were pointing the camera down: had you crouched down low, and levelled the camera upwardly, you may have avoided the problem comletely.

Re: Wife says thats more like it
There are many ways to correct this distortion, but you will either have to prevent it (as stated below) or have to take care of two steps in post processing: have some extra room around the subject (as you have to crop in the end) and correct for distortion (which will lead to a none rectangular photo, so there comes in the crop).
There's tons of info on the internet, but I often return to digital photography school for good and simple pointers.
