I quite like this image Richard, as has been mentioned, a slight increase in contrast will lift the image, try the Clarity slider as well to bring out some of the textures. However too much contrast will spoil the high key effect that the mist is providing, some grain would help IMO. Is it film or digital?

I would tend to keep the first one and just add a little selective dodging and burning and only to parts of the foreground.
